The Search Room is open Tuesday – Friday and most Saturdays from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM. The Maryland State Archives is CLOSED on Sunday, Monday, the 1st Saturday of every month, and Saturdays of holiday weekends. The Special Collections Department, started in 1935, supervises the care, preservation, accessioning, and description of non-state agency generated records (see Code State Government Article, sec. 9-1010).
